Built for Pearson BTEC assessors

Find the criteria. Find the evidence. You make the call.

Moga'em turns your own unit spec into plain-language criteria, then shows you where a learner's work actually addresses each one — with the exact passage. It never grades. Every judgement on record stays yours.

From 19.99 JOD for the whole teaching season — not per month.

The part of assessment nobody budgets for

The work isn't judging. It's finding.

You know what a Distinction looks like. What takes the evening is everything before the judgement.

The spec book

The criterion you need is on page 147 of a 200-page PDF, written in wording you then have to translate for learners.

The submission

Thirty pages of coursework, and you re-read all of it to establish where M2 is actually evidenced.

The cohort

Twenty-four learners, and by learner nineteen your wording for the same criterion has quietly drifted.

The audit

Your IV asks where the evidence for D1 was. "I remember reading it" is not an answer.

If you assess BTEC, pick the ones you recognise

Every one of these costs you an evening. Most of them cost you eight.

You did not become an assessor to re-read specifications. Here is what actually eats the term — and what replaces it.

The problem

The specification is written for auditors, not for teaching

Two hundred pages of Pearson wording, and the criterion you need is buried on page 147 in language you then have to translate for learners before you can even start.

What changes

Criteria Decoder turns your own unit pack into plain-language criteria mapped to the assignment tasks — once. It is saved and versioned in your library, and reopening it for the rest of the term costs nothing.

The problem

By learner nineteen, you are not the same assessor you were at learner one

The same criterion, worded four different ways across one cohort. Not carelessness — just twenty-four submissions and a Sunday evening. It is the thing an IV notices first.

What changes

One decoded wording drives every run across the cohort, so the criterion you apply to learner twenty-four is the one you applied to learner one. On-Screen Review asks the same question set for every learner, so nothing gets skipped on the tired ones.

The problem

Finding where the evidence actually is, thirty pages at a time

You re-read the whole submission to establish where M2 is evidenced. Then you do it again for D1. Then you do it twenty-three more times.

What changes

Evidence Mapper locates candidate passages for each criterion and points to their exact position in the document, labelled matched, partial or no match. It never decides — you confirm, reject or reassign, and your decision is what gets stored.

The problem

"I remember reading it" is not an answer for your IV

Specs in one folder, evidence in another, your notes in a third, and no record of why you reached the decision you reached three weeks ago.

What changes

Criteria, learner work, located evidence and your decision live in one workspace, with every confirm, reject and reassign stored against your name. Cohort-level internal verification tooling is in preview and not billed while it is.

The problem

A term is four or five months, and it never gets quieter

The work does not scale down. Every new assignment restarts the same cycle of re-reading, re-typing and re-uploading from the beginning.

What changes

The three things you repeat are the three things that stop: decode a unit once and reopen it free, upload a learner’s work once and reuse it across every tool, and get located evidence instead of a fresh read-through.

The problem

A monthly subscription you pay for in July, when you teach nobody

Software is billed by the month. Teaching is billed by the term. You end up paying through the holidays for a tool you opened twice.

What changes

Credits are sold by the teaching season, roughly four to five months — not by the month. Top up with 25, 50 or 100 more if you run out early, and leftover credits carry over when you switch packs. A run that fails never costs a credit.

The problem

The specification is 200 pages and you need eleven of them

Splitting, trimming and merging means another tool, another account, and uploading learner work to a company you have never heard of.

What changes

Free split, trim and merge that runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload — the file never reaches a server, because no server is involved.

The problem

It is not your data to be casual with

Learner work and centre specifications are other people’s material, and you are the one who signed for it.

What changes

Files sit under your own account with per-user access rules, validated by file signature rather than extension. They are never sold, never passed to third parties, and never used to train models.

Same judgement. Two hours less hunting.

Without Moga'em

  • Open the spec book and scroll for your unit.
  • Re-type the criteria into your own grid.
  • Read the whole submission again for each criterion.
  • Write the same comment twenty-four times.
  • Reconstruct the trail from memory when the IV asks.

With Moga'em

  • Decode the unit once — cached, versioned, free to reopen.
  • Criteria in plain language, mapped to the assignment tasks.
  • Upload each learner’s work once and reuse it across every tool.
  • Candidate passages located with their exact position in the document.
  • Every confirm, reject and reassign stored against your name.

Four steps, and you're in control of all four.

Your documents, your library, your decisions.

  1. Bring your own unit pack

Upload the unit spec, assignment brief and delivery guide you already have — PDF or DOCX, up to 20 MB each. Trim a large spec book down first with the free PDF Trimmer if you like.

  2. Decode it once

Criteria Decoder organises the criteria into plain language and maps them to the assignment tasks. The result is saved to your personal, versioned spec library, and reopening it later costs nothing.

  3. Add the work once

Create a class, add your learners, upload their documents. The same document is reused by every tool, so you never upload it twice.

  4. Locate, then decide

Evidence Mapper returns candidate passages with their exact position in the document, labelled matched, partial or no match. That is evidence presence, not a grade. You confirm, reject or reassign each one — and your decision is what gets stored.

A worked example

Monday: one assignment, twenty-four learners.

You decode the unit once — 1 credit. You run Evidence Mapper on each of the twenty-four submissions — 24 credits. Twenty-five in total. A Starter season pack is 120 credits, so it covers roughly four assignments like that across the 4–5 month window. Reopening the decode later is free, and a run that fails costs you nothing.

Where the line is

The AI does not grade. That isn't a limitation — it's the design.

An assessment decision belongs to a named assessor. Moga'em is built so that stays literally true in the record.

What it will not do

  • Award grades. No Pass, Merit or Distinction comes out of this product.
  • Write your feedback. On-Screen Review gives you one question per criterion, grounded in the learner’s work. You write the judgement.
  • Issue verdicts. Matched, partial and no match describe whether a passage exists that may address the criterion. Nothing more.

What it does instead

  • Records your decision. Every criterion match carries your confirm, reject or reassign, and your note.
  • Shows its working. Each candidate passage points at its exact position in the document, so you verify rather than trust.
  • Uses your documents. Your spec, your brief, your learners’ work — decoded into your own library, never a shared pool.

Five tools that share one workspace.

Upload a document once; every tool can use it.

Criteria Decoder

Turns your unit pack into plain-language criteria mapped to the assignment tasks, saved to a versioned library. Reopening a decode is free.

Evidence Mapper

Locates candidate passages in a learner’s work for each criterion, with exact positions, then records your confirm, reject or reassign.

1 credit per run

On-Screen Review

Gives you one review question per criterion, grounded in the actual work, so nothing is skipped. You write every judgement yourself.

Questions your IQA will ask.

Whose documents are these?

Yours. Uploads live under your own account, and specs are decoded into your personal library rather than shared across schools.

Do you sell learner work?

No. Teacher and learner files are never sold or passed to third parties, and they are not used to train models.

What can I upload?

PDF and DOCX up to 20 MB, checked by file signature rather than by extension alone.

And the free PDF tools?

They never touch a server. Everything happens in your browser, so there is nothing to store and nothing to leak.

What it costs

A term of assessor tooling, for less than one set of marking pens.

Season packs are priced against the term you actually teach, not the calendar month you happen to be billed in.

What a term normally costs you

  • Around eight evenings per assignment cycle, spent finding rather than judging.

  • Per-month tooling billed straight through the holidays.
